National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain
The world's greatest orchestra of teenagers, NYO was created in 1948 to give inspiring orchestral experiences to teenage musicians and audiences.
Recruiting its 164 teenage musicians from every background and every corner of the UK, NYO rehearses in residence three times a year, working with leading international conductors and artists. The orchestra performs in the UK’s most iconic concert halls and is celebrated in 5-star reviews in the national media.
NYO Inspire is an inclusion programme which provides free opportunities to teenage musicians grade 6 - 8+ to develop their orchestral playing. Through in-depth workshops, rehearsals, and public performances, NYO Inspire events offer the opportunity to develop ensemble playing skills, meet enthusiastic musicians from across the country, and work closely with NYO Musicians and Tutors in a friendly and creative environment. The next NYO Inspire activity will take in Sheffield on 22 September. To find out more about NYO Inspire and how to apply, visit nyo.org.uk/inspire
